George Thorogood

Why see George Thorogood?

50 years of rock anniversary

George Thorogood and his band The Destroyers have been playing their sleazy, bar-blues for over four decades now. Their back catalogue includes 16 studio albums, which have sold more than 15 million units worldwide, and luckily for us, the boys show no signs of slowing down just yet. Join the celebration as they embark on their 'All Over The World - 50 Years of Rock anniversary' tour

Now George Thorogood may not be a name you recognize, but you've definitely heard his songs. His defining number remains "Bad to the Bone", a dirty, bluesy anthem that is about as bad-ass as you can get. It's been popularised by its use in the opening scene in Terminator 2: Judgement Day, and John Carpenter's horror movie Christine. Among his other best-known tracks are 'I Drink Alone' and 'Who Do You Love'.

George Destroyed

George destroyed all doubt; the man can play. His band is as tight as ever and for the first time I was close enough to watch him work his guitar. Truly one of the best concerts I have seen in years. Straight up R & R with blues influences. I saw him 20 years ago open for Z Z Top in Dallas and he was better last night. All the band members complement each other so well and there is no BS, all music. Many of the arrangements were complicated musically and it came off like child's play. He is the master of his individualistic playing style. Seeing is believing. Hearing is an evening to remember! ... Read more
